How to Change Your “Last Seen” and Online Status on WhatsApp

WhatsApp lets you control who can see your Last Seen and online status—giving you more privacy when chatting.

To adjust these settings:

• Open WhatsApp and go to Settings
• Tap Privacy
• Select Last seen & online

You’ll now see two sections:

1. Last Seen Settings

Under Who can see my Last Seen, choose from:

• Everyone
• My contacts
• My contacts except… (you can select specific people)
• Nobody

2. Online Status Settings

Under Who can see when I’m online, pick:

• Everyone
• Same as Last Seen (mirrors your above selection)

These options give you more control over your visibility and help you manage your privacy on your own terms.
