It is the 29th and final installment in the FIFA series that is developed by EA Sports, and the final installment under the FIFA banner, and released worldwide on 30 September 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Listed in Guinness World Records as the best-selling sports video game franchise in the world, the game is the final under the 29-year partnership between EA and FIFA. Future football games by EA are set to be named under the banner of EA Sports FC.

In EA Sports FC 24, the women's football league, introduced in the previous installment FIFA 23, has expanded. Now, players can experience the presence of La Liga (Women), Bundesliga (Women), and the UEFA Women's Champions League. The Career Mode of the game has also introduced the Ballon d'Or ceremony. HyperMotion technology is utilized in the game, making player movements closely resemble their real-life counterparts on the football field.

Like recent previous instalments of the series, the game received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for the attempts to improve Franchise mode but criticism at glitches and the lack of innovation elsewhere.
