Use your pickaxe

Every character in Fortnite has a resistant pickaxe that can destroy anything. Hit everything repeatedly with your pickaxe to collect their materials (wood, metal or brick) and use them to build forts, ramps and defensive walls.

Gathering these resources is the key to good defense. Professional players store these resources at the very beginning of the game to use in defense.
